Barack The Magic Negro Video

I’m sure that many if not most of you have already heard about the republican Christmas racism for 2008 where Chip Saltsman who is the former Tennessee GOP leader who headed up Mike Huckabee’s presidential campaign passed around a CD with a song called “Barack the Magic Negro” on it to members of the Republican national Committee. For the people that don’t know this song was done to the tune of “Puff the Magic Dragon” by a white guy, and in a voice that is supposed to be an impersonation of Al Sharpton. This crap is something right out of an old black faced minstrel show. The white guy probably had to do it because you couldn’t pay a black man to be as much of an ignorant nigger as this fool is. Personally I think the song sounds stupid and so does the racist idiot singing it, but some people (we all know which people) seem to think that this is legitimate political satire I want your opinion. “Fuel Economy”

When I first saw the gas station up the street from my house covering their pumps and putting up signs saying that they only had premium gas, I though that people had gotten so tired of the gas prices and bought up all the regular, forsaking the premium. Then as I rode further and further I realized that the other stations had no gas premium or otherwise. The next morning after that there was gas but it was gone by the next day. I live in Atlanta and by Monday there wasn’t any gas all over the city. There was gas today but there was only regular at the stations that I saw. At first I thought that this was strictly due to panic and rumor about gas shortage but it seems that it is a combination a shortage due to hurricanes Gustav and Ike which shut down refineries in Texas and cut down production of the Colonial pipeline which is responsible for distributing a huge amount of fuel throughout the south. Basically what this boils down to is we have no gas down south and as far as I can tell they don’t know how long the shortage will last. Personally I don’t think the oil companies care about the shortage because it allows them to drive the prices of gas up and the resistance of the consumers down. Read more

Here’s the new Rihanna video “Disturbia” which she co-wrote with Chris Brown. While I’m one of Rihanna’s biggest STANs, I think she may be doing a little too much. After all, absence makes the heart grow fonder, and there hasn’t been an absence from Princess Ri Ri for the past 2 1/2 years. So what’s your take on it? Do you dig it the new song and video? It’s about time this video came out. I was just about to grow tired of hearing the song on the radio and in the club. [Insert random rant here] Don’t you just hate it when a song comes out that everybody loves, i.e. this song right here, but the artists wait so long to make the video? Then, by the time it does come out, you don’t even want to watch it anymore? I hate that, and Jeezy was dangerously close to that happening with this song. If there are any artists reading this, please heed my words. Stop dragging your feet and make the video already. Geesh!

Farnsworth Bentley has released a video to coincide with the launch of his new MTV special “G’s to Gents.” Gotta say, I’m digging the feel, although the song would probably sit a little better with me minus the Bentley contribution.

It seems as though Soulja Boy has made a call for reinforcements in his battle with Ice-T. I actually heard about this video through a friend’s little sister who attends high school with song’s subject, Rico. In only a matter of weeks this video has single-handedly made stars out of Mac Cutta, Lil’ Play Boy, Boogie, Smurf, Fresh Prince, Show Time and Pretty Boi, not mention Soulja Boy just signed his mini me’s to his Stacks On Deck imprint.
