Art, Beats and Lyrics is one of the most anticipated urban lifestyle tours of its kind. Jack Daniel’s Tennessee Honey hosted its most recent event in Chicago at MFG Morgan. Art, Beats and Lyrics merges hip-hop culture and urban art to create one of the coolest and most colorful events around. This year’s art portion was curated by renowned artist Dubelyoo, who had an installation inspired by boxing that was amazing. An installation featuring Prince was one of the night’s favorites because of its detail and colors.

The musical portion of the night was hosted by Dres Tha Beatnik and featured hometown talent Sidewalk Chalk. There were a few live DJ performances beforehand. Hip-hop music was played on the first floor and house music on the second. Chosen Few DJ Alan King and Joe Kollege served up the music on the second floor. The headliner for the night was hip-hop legend and King of the South Scarface.

Scarface hit the stage and was cheered on by his fans and he went through his long list of hits. At one point during the evening, he spotted a fan wearing a Cubs hat and he asked to wear it, congratulating the Cubs on their recent World Series championship. Not to be outdone, a fan handed him a Sox hat that he also decided to wear. Then he asked the crowd if they were a Cubs or a White Sox city. The White Sox got the most cheers. The drinks were flowing all night and everyone who was lined up around the corner was able to get in and take part in the night’s festivities. This free event was a great way to kick off the weekend, showcase some amazing artwork and enjoy the culture.
