Black Male Nurses on the Rise: 4 Reasons Men View Nursing as a Strong Career Choice
The shaky economy has caused unemployment rates to soar since the start of the “Great Recession.” However, there are a few occupations that continue to thrive despite the economic downturn. More men are now leaving their former careers behind to become nurses. According to the Department of Health and Human Services, the number of male nurses grew from 6.2 percent in 2000 to 9.6 percent in 2008.
