Tracey Jennings, VP, Global Director, Liquid Soul Media
Tracey Jennings ranks high among a new breed of executives in small businesses whose impact is far-reaching. The vice president and global director of Liquid Soul Media imagined when she earned her MBA with a concentration in marketing from Florida A&M University, that she’d spend her career in the marketing division at a Fortune 500 company.
Life dealt her a different hand. And she isn’t complaining.
Jennings spent her early years working in purchasing for Ford motor Company. “Ford had a rotational program — if you came into purchasing you could work cross-functionally. It was my plan to wow and dazzle them when I went to marketing. But, they stopped the program,” shares the Ft. Walton Beach, Fla., native.
Jennings’ stayed at Ford for six years. “Plotting my next move,” she laughs. “I figured out how to keep taking stepping stones to get me to where I am right now.”
Now, Jennings oversees all of Liquid Soul Media’s accounts and she ensures that they “deliver flawless execution to the clients.” The job includes managing a team of account directors, managers and coordinators.
“I am also responsible for the business transformation within the company as a whole and taking the company to the next level to make us more efficient and competitive in the marketplace,” she adds.
Jennings is definitely living her passion and says she was destined to work at a multicultural advertising agency because it pushes her to be at her “best at all times.”
A member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Inc., Jennings is a strong advocate of volunteering and giving back to the community. –yvette caslin
