During the recent Female Success Factor event held at the Atlanta History Center, Jennings said she “was an ordinary woman.”


So, how did she land at one of the most powerful marketing companies in the nation?
Jennings told Female Success Factor attendees that early in her career she followed the money, and it was a mistake. She learned what she could from that journey and then “I followed my passion, and the money followed me,” she says.

Jennings had to rebrand her former self and prepare for her dream gig with Liquid Soul Media, a job that doesn’t feel like a job because she absolutely loves what she does.
During her talk, Jennings shared 10 Ways to Build Your brand:

  1. Take time to discover your brand put some thought into it. What’s your legacy — what do you want people to remember you by?
  2. Be an invaluable asset. Are you that person who understands social media? Are you the go-to person for company outings? What differentiates you?
  3. Build contacts. Join organizations, have a voice. When at events, make it a point to meet at least three people.
  4. Build your brand tool kit and make it visible. This includes your business card, resume, LinkedIn profile, Facebook, and Twitter accounts. By the way, it’s not good enough to have a Twitter page, you have to be active.
  5. Show up and be intentionally present.
  6. Work smarter not harder, plan and have goals.
  7. Be confident. The talented, multi-dimensional you has a story that someone else wants to hear.
  8. Support and help each other, you can’t do it alone.
  9. Push yourself, and keep striving.
  10. Shift your attitude. Shift it from, “I wish I could” to “I know I can,” and speaking what you want into existence.
