U.S. Post Office Hiring Mail Carriers
This week, Americans were shocked when they learned that the U.S. Postal Service was being criticized for wasteful spending. To celebrate the 20th anniversary of the popular cartoon “The Simpsons,” they printed one billion stamps that cost taxpayers $1.2 million. Only 318 million of the $0.44 stamps were sold. The cost of stamps has risen to $0.45 and the USPS had to destroy the stamps.
In another headline, Bloomberg News credits the USPS with revolutionizing retailing in 1913 when it started delivering mail order packages to customers living in rural areas and outside of express companies’ territories.
It seems the rural territories, nearly 100 years later, still have a need for the services of USPS. The USPS office is now hiring RCA’s, short for rural carrier associates, and other jobs.
