The Toyota Corolla continues to be one of the best selling sub compact vehicles in the nation. With the summer travel season in full swing, we decided to test drive the Corolla during a recent road trip.

Here are a few things that we discovered.

Driving capabilities

The Corolla packs a nice a punch for its size. During our trip from Atlanta to Nashville, we were able to test its power. It produces 140 horsepower and 128 pound-feet of torque. The Corolla is also excellent on gas. It achieves 42 miles per gallon on the highway and 30 in the city. Needless to say, we didn’t stop for gas much during our trip.

Technology

When it comes to long road trips, it’s important for vehicles to have special features that will keep passengers and the driver entertained. The Corolla comes with a 6.1-inch touchscreen that features a GPS, music options, and the Entune App Suite. The Entune App Suite allows for smart-phone connection to access services such as Pandora and Facebook. There is also satellite radio and Bluetooth connectivity.

Comfort

The Corolla offers a spacious interior for a compact vehicle. Rear passengers were able to have decent legroom considering the vehicle’s size. There was also enough trunk space for several travel bags and a cooler.

Overall, the Corolla is a stylish car that offers good handling and comfort. It also comes at a bargain price stating at $16,950.
