Professional athletes took some of the boldest stances back in 2012 in supporting Trayvon Martin and his family’s quest for justice. As you recall, last year LeBron James, Dwyane Wade and members of the Miami Heat posted Instagram photos of the team wearing hoodies in a show of solidarity — and to imply that they believed that the teen was wrongly killed by overzealous neighborhood watch captain George Zimmerman.

As such, it should not come as a surprise that many of these same athletes, including D-Wade, expressed some of the strongest opinions when Zimmerman was exonerated of both second-degree murder and the lesser manslaughter charge on Saturday, July 13.
