A broken toilet enraged a man so much that he allegedly killed his girlfriend. According to reports by Penn Live, the incident began after Hasan Gooden-Reid, 34, returned to his apartment on July 7 and discovered water running down the steps.

Once Gooden-Reid went upstairs, he saw that the toilet was broken. He became infuriated and began yelling at his girlfriend, Kristina Pope. At some point, the argument turned violent and Gooden-Reid grabbed a knife and stabbed Pope four times. Pope eventually died from her wounds.

The following day, Gooden-Reid changed her clothes and wrapped her dead body in a blanket. He placed the bloody clothes in a trash bag and then put her body in his closet.

After several days, his neighbors began to complain about a foul odor coming from his apartment and flies hovering around his front door. Members of the Lycoming County Housing Authority told Gooden-Reid that the apartment needed to be disinfected, but he refused to let them inside his home and told them it was only mildew from his damp carpet.

But the following morning around 4 a.m., Gooden-Reid took the body to a trash can. Three weeks after she was murdered, someone found Pope’s decomposed body and police were called to the scene.

Gooden-Reid was arrested and charged with homicide, aggravated assault, abuse of a corpse, and tampering with evidence.
