Domonique Newburn, the transgender star of the online reality series “Hollywood Houseboys,” was found beaten to death Tuesday afternoon in her apartment in Fontana, Calif.
On Wednesday, San Bernardino police found her black Mercedes-Benz abandoned at Perris Hill Park. Late Thursday night, the police identified Dantjier Powell, 18, of San Bernardino in connection with the slaying of Newburn, but at this moment they are not investigating this as a hate crime. Newburn and Powell are believed to be in a relationship.
Police also said they are looking into the possibility that Newburn may have been working as a sex escort after discovering Newburn’s photo attached to a Backpage.com advertisement for escort services.
Authorities believe Powell may be trying to flee the state via bus and may be accompanied by Jamie Nicole Cotton, 25, of Highland.
