10 Cities With Worst-Dressed Populace; Atlanta Makes the List
There are some people in the following cities who just can’t seem to get it together when it comes to putting on presentable clothes. Then there are cities where it is just straight eye pollution as you trudge through their city centers or watering holes.
A popular traveling magazine has listed the 10 worst dressed cities in America and even offered up an explanation for a few of them. Anchorage, Alaska, was near the top of the list, and Dr. Miriam Jones, a paleoclimatologist who has traveled in and out of Anchorage, was not surprised. Jones said in Alaska, men wear beards and flannel to keep frostbite at bay and their appendages attached.
“It’s not uncommon to see oversized parkas with fur-lined hoods and bunny boots, and people aren’t alarmed when a person wearing a ski mask enters a room,” Jones added.
Makes sense to me. Other metropolitan areas, unfortunately, are not accorded any such justification for shabby dress. Despite being one of the wealthiest cities in the Southeast, Atlanta is deemed a city where people money and fashion don’t go together. And one popular reality show gets most of the blame.
“If the flashy reality-TV stars of ”The Real Housewives of Atlanta’ are at all indicative of how the rest of Atlanta dresses, it’s no wonder our readers ranked it as America’s No. 7 least-stylish city,” writes Travel and Leisure magazine. Hotlanta has one of the highest per capita incomes of any southern city, but as the TV show illustrates and the saying goes: money can’t buy taste.”
Ouch. Well, with that being said, here are the 10 cities with worst-dressed populace in America.
