Similar to South Central, Los Angeles, gangs in Chicago are more than just a teenage fad. The gang ties are cultural and passed down through generations. In a city such as Chicago, it’s not uncommon for youth to have uncles, older cousins and even grand parents who are or were once affiliated with a gang.

But unlike years past, many older gang members believe that gang violence has increased in Chicago because of undisciplined youth who are now running the gangs.

Chief Keef’s recent tribulations have shed light on the youth violence in Chicago and the gang he’s reportedly affiliated with, the Black Disciples.

    what pissed me off the government stop a positive movement, they blamed it on drugs but they didn’t want to see black men in that political office trying to things for the best. Now these gangs got poor leadership and people shooting and dying.
