Chicago's Young and Powerful Group hosts 'Ignite' reception

Chicago’s Young and Powerful Group held its Ignite inauguration reception recently in Chicago.


Attendees included Keesha Smith, teacher at CPS; Brian Sleet, chief of staff, office of the Honorable Roderick T. Sawyer, Alderman of the 6th Ward;  Courtney Brookins, teacher at CPS center and Danicka Brown, broker associate at @properties; Kendra Mercer, host and executive director of Swish Dreams; and Bril Barrett founder of M.A.D.D. (Making A Difference Dancing) Rhythms; Rahshaan Meador, program coordinator, broadcast technology and digital media at Chicago Public Schools (CPS); and Michelle Thibodeaux, owner of The Connection, among others.
The Young and Powerful Group was influential in organizing the youth voting bloc for President Barack Obama’s re-election campaign, and is a part of a national network of Young and Powerful groups.
