Name:  Dionne Anglin, TV Reporter, Blogger, “Super Mom”

Name and age of kids:  I have one magnificent 13-year-old daughter. Her name is Madison Robbie, or as of late, “MadiRob.”

What do you love most about motherhood? I love the fact that each day I get the blessing of loving my baby girl a little bit more than the day before.

What are three things that no one told about being a mother? 1) No one told me how much of myself I’d actually see in this child! 2) No one told me I’d be willing to sacrifice so much just to see her happy. 3) No one told me that being a mother would inspire me to want to grow, develop and succeed in my career.

What’s one thing that every mother-to-be should know? You have to be the parent first. It’s okay to be friends, but don’t allow the parameters to blur. Demand respect first and foremost.

How do you balance work and motherhood? My extended family is a huge blessing. First and foremost, my husband and I have become master jugglers of all tasks. When we can’t work something out logistically, we call on family members who are always willing to step in and help.

Three words that describe your mothering style? Multi-tasker. Loving. Mommy with Style-and-a-Bit-of-Flair! (Okay … That’s a phrase.)

What family activities does the family do together? We love family date days, dinner and a movie. We love family vacations, riding bikes together and just lying around being lazy while laughing at our dog Checkers’ antics!

Where did you vacation last? Our last most memorable vacation together was to the 2013 Presidential Inauguration in Washington, D.C. Upcoming, we are completely giddy about traveling to London and Paris this summer!! It will be our daughter’s first international trip!

How do you relax and unwind? Writing helps me unwind! I have a blog and it provides me the opportunity to share some personal thoughts, inspirations, humor and other things I wouldn’t ordinarily as a serious TV news reporter. Please check it out at reportermom.com.

That said … my most memorable occasions of relaxation are when I’m with family and close friends … sharing laughs, expressing who we are and what we mean to each other without any pretenses or fear of being judged. Just being our true, unfiltered ourselves. I love that!
