Dwyane Wade’s Ex Makes Damning Accusations Against NBA Star
Siohvaughn Funches-Wade, ex-wife of basketball great Dwyane Wade, is back in court seeking a support order for her two young children with the NBA All-Star. The battle of the Wades is heating up again, with disturbing new details emerging about their tumultuous marriage, domestic abuse and child neglect in a tell-all exclusive Sunday morning interview with Detroit’s 107.5 radio host Koffey Brown.
In recent interviews on “Oprah’s Next Chapter” and the “The View,” Miami Heat star maintained that all support and custody issues stemming from the dissolution of his marriage to Siohvaughn have been resolved to the satisfaction of all parties. But Siohvaughn Wade tells a very different story. Talk show host Kietta Mayweather-Gamble of “Real Talk With Kietta” got to the heart of the matter with Siouvaughn, addressing the lies, the abuse and mental cruelty.
Siohvaughn alleges that while she was pregnant, Wade “held me over his head, literally in mid-air and threw me down. And when I went to go call the police he threw the cordless phone against my body so hard that the phone literally broke into pieces.” And it gets worse. Siouvaughn also claims that Wade abused their children, during the marriage and after Wade gained custody of his sons.
“Two women showed up at my house and told me that yet another therapist had reported Mr. Wade for child abuse. … Mr. Wade in disciplining Zaire [now 7], would take his closed fist and literally punch our son in the chest. He hit him so hard one November … That Zaire literally slid across the floor in the house and had a full blown asthma attack.” Siohuvaughn goes on to say that after a particularly brutal verbal scolding from his father, that his hair began to fall out and he admitted to her, “Mom I just want to die.”
However In June of this year, Wade was the one lobbing allegations of abuse when he asked the court to Granted that lots of exes who are on bad terms with their former spouses lash out with vitriolic attacks, but Siovaughn’s story is so compelling that Wade’s “boy next door image” is bound to suffer.
Finally when asked about Gabrielle Union’s role in the family turmoil, the former Mrs. Wade said “I don’t consider,” although she did file a lawsuit in 20101 against Union for libel and slander.
