Naomi Schaefer Riley wants us all to believe that there is no value in black studies on college campuses. In an article titled, “The Most Persuasive Case for Eliminating Black Studies? Just Read Dissertations,” Riley argues that black studies are “a collection of left-wing victimization claptrap. The best that can be said of these topics is that they’re so irrelevant no one will ever look at them.”

She also wrote, “If these young scholars are the future of the discipline, I think they can just as well leave their calendars at 1963 and let some legitimate scholars find solutions to the problems of blacks in America. Solutions that don’t begin and end with blame the white man.”

Her unrestrained stupidity is a pattern of thought that reinforces the racism that continues to divide America.

During recent trips to Ivy League schools such as Princeton University and Harvard University, rolling out had an opportunitye to speak with several esteemed professors about the importance of black studies on college campuses.

For this one woman to say such a thing is her saying that the very universities aren’t worth going to and are not worth being in business. We all have our difference in opinions, but if it is like this one woman stated and if others agree then that is a blatant defamation of those studies. How can another race come in and say that other scholars who are not part of that community can give legitimate studies of our culture based on what they see and not lived? We have to recognize and fix our community problems that are economically and socially in jeopardy.. She clearly wasn’t thinking when she made that statement, because it does continue to keep a certain thought process going as with the thought that helps to degrade black education and  “pattern of thought that reinforces the racism that continues to divide America.” stated in the article above.

It’s obvious that white Americans don’t want to learn about the contributions of Black people.  This is why they are so dead-set against Black studies programs.  White people are “know-nothings” about the last four-hundred years in the U.S.  They don’t want to know and don’t care to know!  Why do you think white people keep telling Black Americans to “get over it”*.
