Mayor Annise Parker and prominent entrepreneurs honored by the Houston Hispanic Chamber of Commerce

Houston Hispanic Chamber of Commerce Awards Gala Honorees

 

The Houston Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, the leading regional advocate for the economic and civic interests of the Hispanic business community and the largest Hispanic chamber in the country, celebrated its 35th Anniversary with the Annual Awards Gala on Saturday, Nov. 3 at the Hobby Center for the Performing Arts.

Over 1,200 people looked on as the HHCC honored local entrepreneurs, executives and businesses for their leadership and impact on the Houston community. Also among the honorees, Houston Mayor Annise D. Parker, received the Chairman’s Award.

The Awards Gala winners included Dr. William V. Flores, Hispanic Male Executive of the Year; Aleida Rios, Hispanic Female Executive of the Year; Rick Perez, Hispanic Male Entrepreneur of the Year; Delia Reyna, Hispanic Female Entrepreneur of the Year; and Angelica Garcia-Dunn, Emerging Hispanic Business of the Year.

In addition, the Chamber presented its Emerging Leaders Institute Inaugural Class, a group comprised of 33 bright and talented Latinos. The Emerging Leaders Institute identifies, develops, supports and empowers young professionals and college juniors and seniors.

According to Dr. Laura Murillo, President and CEO of the HHCC, “The Houston Hispanic Chamber of Commerce Awards Gala is the largest Hispanic business gala in Houston.”
