Tulsa Shooting: Police Arrest 2 Suspects in Oklahoma
After a shooting in a black neighborhood in Tulsa, Okla., on Good Friday, police arrested two men north of Tulsa at around 2 a.m. on Easter Sunday, the Associated Press reported. Jake England, 19, and Alvin Watts, 32, were arrested in connection with the shooting spree that left three people dead and two severely wounded.
The two men will face charges of three counts of first-degree murder and two counts of shooting with intent to kill. While the victims were black and the two suspects are white, police said that they do not believe that the shootings were racially motivated.
Tips from the public helped the police track down the two men that were arrested. After Friday’s shooting, the Tulsa police worked with the FBI and U.S. Marshals and on the investigation.
