WWE continues to use Hollywood as a way to advance their brand and promote the stars in their tight-knit circle. 12 Rounds continues the pattern first developed with Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, by using the WWE’s current star, John Cena, as the film’s lead. The problem with this film, much like Johnson’s earlier work, is that acting in the wrestling ring is a far cry from competent acting on the big screen. With such an unconvincing performance from Cena, the film is DOA. –dewayne rogers
