Full given name: My full given name is Edward Kent Bryan. I get my last name from my grandfather and my first and middle from my father.
Current projects: The current projects that I am and just finishing up are the film The Promise, Killer Mike’s single “The Big Beast” featuring T.I. and Bun B, which is a short, mini movie music video, Jack’s restaurant commercial — it’s a franchise in Alabama — and serving as a Men’s Warehouse ambassador model.
Where you were born and where you were raised?
I was born in Colon, Panama, [where I lived] till about the age of 4. I am Hispanic and can speak Spanish. I was raised in Columbus, Ga., [by] a single mother of four kids, but [she] made sure we had the tools we needed to survive life.
Zodiac sign:
I am a Sagittarius, but I don’t really rely on what the horoscopes say. A lot of people try to figure me out through my sign, but I am a different species.

Why did you take this role?
To work on my craft. The experience really developed me to be a better actor after being told that we only had four days till shooting. The script changed and so did my role. I became the lead and with that came every awesome scene of this awesome film.

Did you have any particular mentors or inspirations as a young actor?
Yes, my mentors or inspirations as a young actor were Charlie Sheen, Sidney Poitier, Michael Clarke Duncan, Denzel Washington, Chuck Norris, Cuban Gooding Jr. and Tyrese

The one movie you saw that you will never forget:
The movie that I will never forget is the Titanic. That movie resonated in me more than anything because of how dynamic this vessel was, the many lives that were taken and the important lesson to never place trust in material things.

Your personal acting idols:
The personal acting icons I look up to are Sidney Poitier, Cuban Gooding Jr., Denzel Washington, Will Smith, Forrest Whitaker, Michael White, Michael Clarke Duncan and Terry Crews to name a few.

Last good movie you saw:
Underworld: Awakening. I am werewolf type of guy. I love the transformation themes.

Some films you consider classics:
Jungle Fever, A League of Their Own, Boyz n the Hood, A Few Good Men and John Q.

Performer you would drop everything to go see:
Raven-Symoné. I have had something for her since I met her at a promotional album release at Fort Benning, Ga. I even slid my number to her when I first met her and still got that bug of liking her in me. Those were the days.

Pop culture guilty pleasure:
I have none.

Favorite cities:
San Antonio, Chicago, Los Angeles, and Colón, Panama

First CD, tape or LP you owned:
Master P’s Ice Cream Man. I learned that tape from beginning to end. I was the lyrics.

Moment you knew you wanted to perform for a living:
It was when I felt a character inside me come out that was acceptable and natural, but different. And when people said what they saw in my performance as a kid was all I needed to start my journey. Look at me now.

Worst flubbed line, missed cue or onstage mishap:
The worst onstage mishap is when I was in a talent show in South Korea, where I was stationed in the Army. I was dancing to Usher’s “Nice and Slow” but I danced so hard that my tunes weren’t coming out nice and I got booed off stage. So embarrassing, but it made me stronger.

Most challenging role you have played:
In The Promise, when the director switched me to the lead character. I went from being in three to five scenes to every scene, and having to carry every scene. It was a challenge but God is able.

Worst job you ever had:
Working at Loomis Fargo, where I moved from place to place picking up money for 12 hours straight. That job drove my talented brain crazy. I wasn’t able to express my creativity so I left to pursue my love.

Career you would want if not a performer:
It’s still there for me to get. I am still young so I can still choose any career I want and still act, model and sing.

Three things you can’t live without:
Three things I can’t live without is God and the Holy Spirit, My beautiful daughter, Isabella, and family and friends!
