Current project(s): Studio 11 Films’ Reckless playing Jana. In recurring role as specialist Chelsea Rhodes on Lifetime’s “Army Wives;” co-stars as VJ Ebony Wright in The Disney Original movie Let It Shine premiering June 15 on Disney; co-star of the hot late night talk show “Ladies Night;” and creator of the quirky sitcom “MY ROOMIES.”

Why did you take this role?
I liked the message the project set out to convey. And, I appreciate the 11Eleven11Project initiative.

Did you have any particular mentors or inspirations as a young actor?
Actors who were multifaceted with extraordinary range inspired me. The ones who were unpredictable and great at what they did … the likes of Bette Davis, Joan Crawford and Diahann Carroll.

The one movie – attended – that you will never forget:
I love old black and white classics. There are too many to name.

Last good movie you saw:
Mildred Pierce, the original, came on TV and I couldn’t get out of my seat.

Some films you consider classics:
Black Girl, Cooley High, Claudine, Peyton Place, Bad Seed…

Performer you would drop everything to go see:
Prince.

Pop culture guilty pleasure:
Gossip blogs.

Favorite cities:
Atlanta, New York and London.

The Cranberries and Alanis Morrisette’s Jagged Little Pill.

Moment you knew you wanted to perform for a living:
I don’t remember not wanting to perform.

Worst flubbed line/missed cue/onstage mishap:
OMG! I’ll never tell.

Most challenging role you have played:
I starred in Letters to a Father where I played a 13, 18 and 25-year-old. I loved the challenge of transforming into this character and living through her experience at different ages.

Worst job you ever had:
Door-to-door sales in the hot Georgia heat.

Career you would want if not a performer:
An attorney.

Three things you can’t live without:
My family, good food and love.
