Meet Alexandra Dilworth of the show ‘The New Atlanta’

Alex_Dilworth

There’s more to Alexandra Dilworth than the hair pulling you witnessed on a recent episode of “The New Atlanta.” One of the stars of Bravo’s Atlanta-focused hot new reality show, the 20-something recent college grad vaunts she’s a “daddy’s girl” whose main goal is to find a husband who can treat her like the queen her mother has taught her to be. Plus, the missionary and Sunday school teacher is looking forward to making a mark in fashion with her Generation E, rave wear line. If you haven’t had the pleasure of meeting Alex at one Atlanta’s premiere charity functions, society galas, and cigar bars, allow us to introduce you to her. –necorey johnson

What is “The New Atlanta” and how did you get involved with the show?

I would tell you “The New Atlanta” is a new, hot show about singles in Atlanta who are trying to make their [mark on entertainment]. Well as far as [me] being picked for the show, it was mostly just word of mouth. I was born and raised in Atlanta, so I know a lot of people. A couple of my old friends hit me up. I did a show on MTV called “Once Upon A Prom” and I knew some people from there and they called me like, “Hey, there is a new show out, and I think you would be good for it.”

Elaborate more about the concept of the show.

I guess one thing about our show is we are singles and young individuals who have not yet made our name in Atlanta but we are trying to. We are doing on our own, we don’t have any ex-husbands or boyfriends that we are piggy backing from. We are just doing what we need to do. The main thing I want people to know is that we are young. You don’t really see any other show out there showcasing any 20 to 30-year-olds.

The show had some good ratings in Season 1; will there be a Season 2?

Yes. We had a lot of excitement and we are already talking about what’s in the works for next season, so look out for it for sure.

I want our rolling out readers to know about Alexandra the person before the show. Share something people may not know about you.

I am born and raised in Atlanta; I’m a true ATLien. Growing up, I came from a family of missionaries. I’ve been a missionary since I was seven. Also, I aspire to be a “trophy wife,” a dedicated housewife, a woman who’s there for her husband and her family. [I’m] a philanthropist and able to take care of all the social affairs. That is what I mean by a “trophy wife” [like]  my mother who has always been a housewife; I see her as a “trophy wife” myself. Also, I’m really into the ‘EDM’ culture, which stands for electric dance music.
