The American Black Film Festival 2013 took over South Beach on the week of June 19-24 with the plethora of celebrity sightings and appearances, movie premieres, awards programs, short film competitions, exclusive parties and educational workshops.

Sponsored by Cadillac, a division of General Motors, along with HBO, the ABFF saw the casts of both the upcoming The Best Man Holiday and Baggage Claim movies make cameo appearances to discuss the making of those movies and take photos with hundreds of aspiring and budding movie makers. Regina King received an rousing ovation before she discussed her career that has spanned 30 years from “227” through Boyz N the Hood and into “Southland.”abff 14

ABFF founder Jeff Friday took the 17th annual festival to another level by attracting representatives from the six major Hollywood studios from the West Coast to appear in Miami Beach, Fla., to deliver their marketing strategies and show trailers of their summer and fall releases. And Kevin Hart closed out the festival with the major motion picture premiere of his Let Me Explain comedy movie with guests, newly minted NBA champions LeBron James and Dwyane Wade of the Miami Heat.

And we could go on. Take a look at the best photos that celebrities and others posted on Instagram, Twitter and Facebook below.
