Bishop Eddie L. Long settled his sexual lawsuit with his four accusers for a whopping $15 million, so says hip-hop icon Big Boi. The one-half of the seminal rap group OutKast tweeted yesterday that he found out the pastor of the suburban Atlanta-based New Birth Missionary Baptist Church shelled out that amount. And the famously blunt rapper had a few harsh words for the embattled minister.

“Eddie long settled for 15 million!!! Innocence don’t cost that much,” Big Boi said via Twitter. “The flock Is f—-d.”

Big Boi, aka, Antwan Patton, did not divulge where he procured this information from. Needless to say, the tweet was re-tweeted more than a 100 times and caused an uproar on the cyberspace giant.

Mr. Eddie “I will fight this” Long, stood in front of a packed congregation of more than 10,000 and a bevy of media outlets and vowed to fight the character-assassinating charges of luring young men into homosexual encounters, wielding his powerful position as well as gifts, living quarters, cars and extravagant international excursions.

It was also said that when the young men, then teenage boys, objected to Long’s continued perversion or when the bishop tired of them, he discarded them with the same dispassionate behavior of a person throwing a piece of paper in the garbage. They no longer existed to him, as if they were never born. Not only is this damning, it can be career-killing.

With so much at stake, and the bishop’s categorical proclamation of his innocence, you would think that he would take the fight all the way to the Supreme Court if need be. But, as someone illuminated to me in the comment section of a previous story on this salacious subject, Long was very worried about going to trial and having other scandalous behavior unveiled to the public. During the discovery phase of the trial, we would really understand where and how Long procures his lavish lifestyle, including a multimillion-dollar home, luxury cars and expensive overseas trips that included many staff members and other improprieties and infidelities at various junctures of his tenure at New Birth.

It would have been a bloodbath, some surmise. Long would have had to seek asylum in another country if what he had done was leaked into the public consciousness. The bishop had no choice but to settle. And that, in and of itself, raises very disturbing questions about his uninterrupted reign over New Birth, in light of what has transpired thus far.

If God is not the Deliverer He claims to be then all Pastors need to close their churches and stop Pastoring, including me. We need to stop worshipping God and we need to waste no time spreading His Word to anyone.  Joseph was falsely accused and even put into prison for something he did not do but God vindicated him and brought him out of prison and made him Prime Minister of Egypt. Joseph did not have to settle out of court by paying 15M dollars to not one (false) accuser. Here is the good news, brothers and sisters, GOD IS INDEED A DELIVER AND HE WILL DELIVER YOU OUT! But if we are guilty, He will not support us in our madness and neither will He vindicate us if we refuse to repent! The one thing that I believe Bishop Long may be missing that God is desperately trying to get him to see, is who he really is. Since it is apparent to me and to the entire world that he refuses to accept his sexual orientation and refuses to walk in truth (something that would liberate his soul, family and victims), God therefore cannot, and will not vindicate him!
The Lord will rescue me from every evil deed, and will bring me safely to His heavenly kingdom; to Him be the glory forever and ever. Amen.

Long purchased his freedom with his flock 10%…. If his flock wants to know what he’s doing with their 10% of hard earned money, call his attorney. I’m sure his attorney said, “You’re SOL” and “You got caught with your hands in the cookie jar.” An innocence man don’t settle regardless how it takes but a guilty man, settles to avoid humiliation ant the truth.

A good example of how money can buy you freedom. I guess Long will increased the 10% to 20% to turn a profit for him and his family.

The new night club is church….. Same crap, just different location. So black folks, can’t blame these pimp preachers on the white folks.

Well written story. I agree, if he were indeed innocent he would have fought it. I think he owes his flock an explanation and an apology. But I bet they won’t get one. He intend to go as if nothing has happened and put this behind him. Just keep raking in the money from parishioners that have faith in the man but no common sense. It’s really funny to talk to some of the members of his church (women) some that I have spoken to seem to be ready to come to blows if any thing negative is said about their pastor.
Maybe I missed something but I never heard or saw anything his wife had to say on this matter. I assume she is supportive but she appears to be absent, if I am wrong please point it out.

“…money from parishioners, …members of his church…” New Birth, the corporation, has no members, and its purpose is “to receive and maintain real or personal property.”

None of its 11 Articles of Incorporation indicate anything about it being a church or propagating Christianity.Read more: CrossRoadsNews – No say for New Birth members

no innocence doesnt cost that much because innocence is priceless….guilt on the other hand can cost as much as the accuser wants it to cost

In a way I feel bad for all of the members who supported this Ministry in some cases supported this Ministry for years and years, to now see their support distributed for a homosexual scandal would shock any member ( I don’t know that all of money was from the Ministry, but it sounds like it).
