The surviving members of the ’90s girls group sensation Blaque, Brandi Williams and Shamari Fears-Devoe, issued a statement on the shocking, premature death of fellow bandmate Natina Reed who passed away tragically on Friday evening.

Reed, the talented fireplug protege of the late, legendary Lisa “Left Eye” Lopes of TLC, was reportedly killed in a violent hit-and-run accident in Atlanta. She was attempting to cross the street when an unknown vehicle fatally struck the singer and rapper.

Reed, who came to fame with Williams and Fears-Devoe via the single “808,” was killed a day before her 33rd birthday and was reportedly working on a comeback album and reality show.

Here is what Williams and Devoe had to say on behalf of Blaque and the entire Left Eye Music Family, courtesy of Enchanted PR:

“We are devastated by the loss of our group member, sister and friend Natina Reed. Because of the enormous support of Blaque fans and our love for each another, Blaque officially reunited this fall and we were in the process of working on a new album and a reality show. Natina continuously embodied the pioneering spirit of Blaque and her undeniable creativity touched the hearts of fans everywhere. Natina was a mother, sister, accomplished songwriter, artist and friend. We ask for your prayers at this time for Natina’s family. She will forever be missed and her global influence eternally felt. We thank God for the experiences we shared.”
