Have a seat, please. Bobby Brown, the ex-husband of the late Whitney Houston, is shopping a biopic of his turbulent life to Hollywood studios.

Brown, a New Edition singer-turned solo artist-turned New Edition singer again, even wants his 19-year-old daughter, Bobbi Kristina, to appear in the film, the media is reporting.

Currently the script is called The Bad Boy of R&B: The Bobby Brown Story. Brown s team cast their line out late last year, but got no one to bite.

Fast forward a few months: the all-time great singer Houston died shockingly, and suddenly there is renewed interest in completing the project and re-shipping it to studios in L.A. Brown and his writing partner Michael Pinckney have reopened the script, according to carltonjordan.com. The manuscript will have to be amended to include the death of Houston, but the marriage is not a major part of the story. That may be a major problem for Brown s screenwriting aspirations because, as the Atlanta-based production team that put out his reality show, “Being Bobby Brown,” said to us and others is that Brown only got a lot of eyes on the show because of the prospect of seeing Houston.

Pinckney may be familiar to movie insiders because of his standings as a Spike Lee protégé, having worked as a first or second directorial assistant on such movies as Inside Man, Precious and Tower Heist.

Reportedly, Pinckney will undergo a national search to find someone to play the singer of the classics “My Prerogative,” “Every Little Step” and “Don t Be Cruel,” similar to the casting that made the previously unknown Gabby Sidibe a household name for her portrayal of an abused daughter in Precious.
