Celebrities quitting Instagram over new policies

Instagram has incurred the wrath of its users. A mutiny is going down and it includes multiple celebrities.

The ultra-popular social media platform has created a national inferno of anger for updating their terms of use, that now state: “agree that a business or other entity may pay us to display your username, likeness, photos (along with any associated metadata), and/or actions you take, in connection with paid or sponsored content or promotions, without any compensation to you.”

The statement set off a brutal backlash from its wide fan base, particularly celebrities, that has Instagram recoiling with regret with how their policy was communicated. Regardless of how it was communicated, however, millions of celebs and non-celebs are outraged and many of whom took to Twitter to vent their disgust:

 

 

Instagram’s problems are multiplied by the fact that celebs often have millions of followers and are extremely influential when it comes to swaying public opinion. Instagram had better take heed.
