Celebrities Who Are Republicans … Some Will Surprise You

People get it twisted when they believe that all Hollywood heavyweights and heavy metal band members are automatically inducted into the Democratic National Party. In fact, there is some belief, as stated in mediate.com, that you haven’t become a de facto elite actor unless you have been invited to one of George Clooney’s high-profile Democratic fundraisers.

Some artists aren’t trying to hear what Clooney and his buddy, President Obama, have to say. They are deeply entrenched on the other side of the political isle and, in fact, some could be considered ultra-conservative right winger, to boot, according to buzzfeed.com.

Here is the list of celebrities who are Republicans. And the list may surprise you.

Curtis Jackson even went so far as to say back in 2004 that he and George Bush are a lot alike: They were widely disliked but that they would be around for four more years.

  MR. BROWN LET ME inform you of something you don’t know.. Romney doesn’t receive a salary.. so he doesn’t pay INCOME tax.. INCOME TAX IS MONEY MADE BY WORKING.. Romney has stock and bonds and pays CAPITAL GAINS.. WHICH IS 13 TO 15% .. NOW PEOPLE INVEST MONEY IN STOCKS AND BONDS TO RETIRE (MANY PEOPLE DO.. OLD AND YOUNG.. SO WHEN THEY RETIRED THEY WILL GET MONEY MONTHLY AND ONLY PAY CAPITAL GAINS.. AND NO WE DO NOT WANT CAPITAL GAIN TO GO UP BECAUSE IT WILL HURT ALL THE ELDERLY.. GOT..

I totally understand where Belafonte is coming from. He took the torch from stars such as Paul Robeson and lent not only his money but his face to stand up to injustices for the less fortunate. Beyonce, 50 cents, Jay-Z have stood on the shoulders of these past celebrities and flourished. They have an opportunity to inspire future generations to do the same and they have failed miserably. Beyonce sending someone from her camp to respond to Belafonte’s observation is lame. It is not inspiring and arrogant. To his credit Kanye West stood up and called out Bush during the Katrina tragedy on national television but that kind of courage is not typical of this current generation of African-American superstars. Take a moment and check out people like Sidney Portier, Ossie Davis and Ruby Dee, Maya Angelou, Eartha Kitt, Stevie Wonder and of course Belafonte. These were not only talented entertainers they were role models for all of us and took the lead as voices in the struggle for freedom and equality regardless of the J. Edgar Hoovers, KKK’s and other haters. Belafonte called her out and Beyonce made a punk move….. Thank you Harry Belafonte!!!
