Demi Moore has been rushed to rehab following a drug overdose, TMZ reports.
Her publicist cites “exhaustion” for Demi’s woes in a statement:

“Because of the stresses in her life right now, Demi has chosen to seek professional assistance to treat her exhaustion and improve her overall health. She looks forward to getting well and is grateful for the support of her family and friends.”

One source of stress is her much younger ex-husband, Ashton Kutcher, who had been accused of philandering. Demi is a beautiful, talented,  A-list actress, and, if she is in fact getting treatment for a drug overdose, she should consider herself lucky.

Tragically, several beautiful African American celebrities didn’t get that second chance. Here’s a look.

Donyale Luna of Detroit was a stunning model and the first African American woman to be featured on Vogue magazine. Luna did not accept her black heritage readily, several sources have noted.

Luna also used LSD, and said in a 1960s interview: “I think it’s great. I learned that I like to live, I like to make love, I really do love somebody, I love flowers, I love the sky, I like bright colors, I like animals. [LSD] also showed me unhappy things — that I was stubborn, selfish, unreasonable, mean, that I hurt other people.”

Donyale Luna died in an Italian clinic, after a drug overdose. She was 34.
