Atlanta Mayor’s Office is is minus a high-level staffer after she was arrested on suspicion of drunken driving.

Stacii J. Johnson, the entertainment and special events coordinator with Atlanta’s Mayor’s Office, resigned Tuesday, WSBTV reports.

Johnson, according to police reports, was arrested late Thursday night and charged with DUI, reckless driving, speeding and failure to maintain her lane after an Atlanta police officer saw her driving a white Porsche at 82 mph in a 55 mile zone near the I-75/I-85 split following a Porsche event. She refused to submit to a field sobriety test, according to a police report obtained by The Atlanta Journal-Constitution.

The arresting officer said he detected the scent of alcohol as soon as he approached the vehicle. The officer also noted that Johnson handed the officer her driver’s license along with a business card that indicated that she worked for Mayor Kasim Reed. She first refused several orders to get out of the car, the television station stated.

Johnson, 41, also worked as a political fundraiser with a staff of six people in the special events office. That office is responsible for overseeing the permitting process for outdoor festivals and large events such as movie shoots.

Channel 2 Action News reported that Johnson was pulled over Thursday by Atlanta officers on Interstate 85 near the 17th Street Bridge. She was driving a Porsche on loan after attending a Porsche function with other city officials.

“I asked the driver for her driver’s license, and she handed both her license and a business card. Her business card identified her as special events director for the city of Atlanta,” the officer said.

The officer said he asked Johnson several times to get out of the car before she eventually declined a field sobriety test. The report also stated that Johnson struggled with him as she was arrested.

Johnson is being charged with seven charges, including driving under the influence, speeding, failure to yield to an emergency vehicle and physical obstruction.

This is not the first embarrassing headline Johnson had created recently. In may, Channel 2 Action News stated, Johnson was found to have produced a provocative video produced by and starring Johnson entitled “I Want to Strip for My Man.”

Johnson also worked as an actress whose acting credits also include the 1997 movie “How to Be a Player.”

Johnson had multiple roles inside the mayor’s office including being a a bundler — a person who organizes donations to political campaigns. A website for President Barack Obama said she bundled up to $100,000 for the president’s re-election campaign.

The story is still developing. Stay tuned …

Mayor Reed has given many people a chance who had a bad past. Now he needs to support some of us with promise with a clean record. Is that out of style?
