Oscar-winning actor Jamie Foxx is collaborating with the undisputed champion of the ring in the 1980s, Mike Tyson. In 1986, “Iron Mike” knocked out Trevor Berbick in the second round, winning his first World Boxing Council, or WBC, title. Why are these two icons meeting? The answer is the biopic of Tyson’s life. Tyson says, “Jamie Foxx and I have been talking and he’s willing to take that role and portray me as Mike Tyson, doing my life story.”

This information was shared with reporters on Friday, July 25 during a discussion to promote his forthcoming show in Toronto called “Mike Tyson: Undisputed Truth.” It is also said that the champ feels that Foxx is “splendid because he’s really up to par. I think he would do a magnificent job.”

Tyson also commented, “I saw him the other night and we discussed it. He doesn’t have the physicality but he will. He’s able to … get bulky, so he’s capable of doing it in the future.”

Foxx is an accomplished actor with a list of dramatic and comedic movies on his resume, including playing Ray Charles in the biopic Ray, which garnered him an Academy Award for best actor. He also starred in Django Unchained, Ali, Law Abiding Citizen, Dreamgirls and no one can forget him playing Willie Beamen in Any Given Sunday. The world needs to get ready for another Oscar placed in the hands of Jamie Foxx. –terence merritt
