Kanye West rocks wild masks and rants about Grammys and Lady Gaga

You can’t be hip-hop’s most dramatic, polarizing, flamboyant and passionate rapper without giving fans some explosive moments throughout the year. And Kanye West certainly never disappoints in maintaining that mantle. And while he’s already given us some much talked about fashion and romance moments, he recently topped off 2012 with one of his trademark rants when he performed Revel in Atlantic City over the weekend.

Of course, being a multifaceted artist West couldn’t let off a rant without making a fashion statement as well. While performing songs like “Mercy” and remix of Rihanna’s “Diamonds,” and interpreting the natural element of snow, West shocked fans by hitting the stage with a crystal couture mask by Maison Martin Margiela, followed by a white feather mask that made him look like avant-garde feathered Yeti.

But, of course, it wasn’t just his outfit that had everyone talking: it was his words as well. While performing his latest hit, “Clique,” West ranted about his dissatisfaction with the Grammys snubbing him and relegating him to the “black categories.”

“I love Maroon 5, but when I lost for ‘Best New Artist’ to Maroon 5… Or when Watch the Throne and Dark Fantasy, neither of them got nominated for ‘Album of the Year,’ or when ‘Ni—as in Paris’ didn’t get nominated for ‘Record of the Year’… So don’t expect to see me at the Grammys this year, you nah mean?!” Yeezy yelled.

West then went on to dispel any rumors that he’s lost his mind and explained that he’s simply an artist who’s passionate about his creativity and art, which he says he’ll die to present to the world in proper fashion.

“They’ll try to tell you Kanye’s so crazy, so deranged,” he exclaimed to the crowd. “I ain’t crazy, I’m just not satisfied. I just ain’t satisfied with the s—t they be feeding you all on TV, the s—t they be feeding you all in the movies, the shit they be giving you all in the stores. I want you all to have more. I’m just not satisfied.”

“I will die for what’s in my heart,” ‘Ye proclaimed.
