The hilariously ornery and loud-mouthed restaurant owner who we affectionately remember as Mr. Vernon Gaines on Bill Cosby’s hit 80’s spinoff, “A Different World,” passed away. Lou Myers was 77. According to various news sources, he fell into a coma after his heart stopped on Tuesday, Feb. 19 at Charleston Medical Center in West Virginia. Tonia McDonald, a spokesperson for Global Business Incubation Inc. (a nonprofit founded by Myers) tells press that Myers had been in and out of the hospital since before Christmas and collapsed recently.
An Army veteran, he will have a military burial in West Virginia. He leaves behind his 95-year-old mother to cherish his memory.
