‘Love & Hip Hop’ star Mendeecees facing drug trafficking charges
Mendeecees accused of drug trafficking, sex abuse allegations detailed
A “Love & Hip Hop” star is facing even more legal drama after being previously accused of sexually assaulting a 15-year-old girl. As previously reported, Mendeecees Harris is currently awaiting trial for an inappropriate relationship with a teen. According to prosecutors, Harris asked for and received oral sex from the girl between September 2009 and April 2010. He was later arrested and charged with aggravated sexual assault, criminal sexual contact and child endangerment.
The child has now been confirmed as the daughter of a woman he previously dated, and during a hearing she detailed her abuse to jurors. Now 19, the teen told authorities that Harris would masturbate on her and offer her money. He later coerced her into giving him oral sex. She then added that whenever she asked Harris, whom she called a father figure, for money, he would insist that she provide him with sexual favors. Lawyers for Harris are calling the girl’s claims “fabrications.”
In addition to the sexual assault case, Harris is in even more hot water for alleged drug trafficking. According to New York’s Democrat and Chronicle, who broke the story, he is one of three men accused of trafficking heroin and cocaine. Authorities say that Harris and his two friends trafficked $2.5 million worth of drugs between 2005 and August 2012. Police have since seized more than $1.5 million from safety deposit boxes connected with the case as well as nearly $407,000 worth of jewelry.
Harris surrendered for his indictment on Jan. 24 but has since been released, likely after posting bail. He recently posted a photo on Instagram of him enjoying a drink after the airing of Monday’s epsiode of “Love & Hip Hop.”
“Dealing with Yandy I need a drink sometimes. LOL” he wrote on the social networking site.
