After Kevin Hart left the BET Awards audience in stitches with his skit depicting the lives of “kept men” in Hollywood, the network is developing it into a series. According to reports, BET will premiere “The Real Husbands of Hollywood” this year and has enlisted an all-star cast to take on both the scripted and improvised dialogue. Rumors have been swirling for months that an actual series was in the works, but now BET has revealed the full cast.
Sanaa Lathan is the director for the project with 10 episodes in production. Her father, Stan Lathan, will serve as executive producer as well as Tim Gibbons, Dave Becky, Ralph Farquhar and Jessie Collins. A preview of the show was also shown during the 2012 BET Awards where Samuel L. Jackson was shown as Jedi master on the barbecue grill. Jackson will not have a recurring role in the series.
