Yesterday, Mariah Carey opened up to “The View” host Barbara Walters about her explosive “American Idol” argument with Nicki Minaj and claimed that Minaj went so far as to threaten to shoot her. And with Carey having weighed in on the situation, Minaj decided to take to Twitter and rifle off a barrage of tweets denying threatening Carey and giving her side of the story.

The struggle to be a victim is real in these streets. Lmaooooooooooo. The struggle to not have the kid on the show is real in these streets. Lmaooooooooo,” she wrote, making fun of Carey’s comments about her.

Minaj then took aim at Carey’s claims that she was threatened, denying that any threat ever happened and saying her status as a black rapper makes her a vulnerable target for such scrutiny.

Hey yAll. Lets just say nicki said smthn about a gun. ppl will believe it cuz she’s a black rapper. Lmao. I’ll then hit up Barbara n milk it. Ironically no camera or mic heard the gun comment tho. Lol @ the struggle. Not even the producers believed u. Say no to violence barbz,” she said. (“Idol” producer Nigel Lythgoe also told TMZ that Minaj never threatened Carey).

Barbara walters didn’t reach out from our team barbz. I guess we’re too dangerous. Don’t shake if u don’t wannA get shook!!!! LmAooooooooooo. I don’t call tmz n Barbara Walters cuz I stand on my own two feet. Never needed an army. God is good. Insecurity is as cruel as the grave,” Minaj added.

In Carey’s interview, she revealed that there was a meeting held where she and Minaj supposedly worked out their issues. But Minaj took aim at Carey, saying the producers favor her over the Emancipation singer.

I guess it hurts 2 have the producers tell u to ur face that nicki is the best judge we’ve had since simon. Awww, poor u. Keep them lies cmn. Tried to keep quiet but let’s go!!!!” she said.

I thought we resolved it yesterday but I see u want ur pity party to continue. So I’m bout to po dot tea. All I do is compliment u. That’s not enuff? Ur a legend, cheer up. U don’t have to run down ur resume or feel intimidated. Shady McGrady…” she added.

Clearly, there’s more to this story than either Carey, Minaj or the “Idol” producers have revealed, but we may just get the full scoop if these two keep going back and forth.

Thankfully, their beef remained non-violent, unlike these other infamously violent beefs below. – nicholas robinson
