Petitioners boycotting Shawty Lo's reality show

‘All My Babies’ Mamas’ petitioned

The makers of a reality show based  on a rapper and his plethora of baby’s mothers are facing criticism today. As previously reported, Shawty Lo recently caused a ruckus when a trailer for his ‘All My Babies Mamas’ hit the Net. In it we see Lo with his 10 baby’s mothers and 11 children starring in the Oxygen network program.”All My Babies’ Mamas” will be filled with outrageous and authentic over-the-top moments that our young, diverse female audience can tweet and gossip about,” said an Oxygen Media exec about the program. However, those anticipated tweets may never come to fruition now that petitioners have spoken out against the program.

Over the weekend a petition began to circulate asking that the show, which has a spring 2013 release date, be canceled. “Cancel Shawty-Low show aka “My Babies’ Mommas” and all programming which demeans black children, women and stereotypes black men,” states the petition started by Sabrina Lamb on Change.org. “Our Children…our Community… Deserves Better. Ban This Poison. Ban This Television Show,” it adds.

Like Lamb, a number of people are put off by the show that will feature Lo and his ‘first lady’, ‘fighter baby mama’, jealous baby mama’ and the like. So much so that over 1,500 people have signed the petition.

Lo and his “ladies” have not commented on the controversy.

If you’re interested in keeping “All My Babies’ Mamas” off television you can sign the petition here.  -danielle canada
