Earlier today, we reported linebacker Prince Shembo was waived by the Atlanta Falcons after police charged the 23-year-old with aggravated animal cruelty.
According to Gwinnett County police, a warrant was issued on Friday for the NFL player’s arrest after his ex-girlfriend Denicia A. Williams, 20, claimed she had taken her Yorkie, Dior, to Shembo’s apartment on April 15 and that after she left the dog alone with the athlete, when she returned, the animal was unresponsive.
Williams took the dog to an animal hospital, where he died shortly after. Shembo confessed the next day that he had kicked the dog and she called it quits.
