Shots Fired on Waka Flocka’s Tour Bus
Trouble seems to find Waka Flocka Flame. The latest incident involving the Atlanta rapper occurred in east Charlotte, N.C., yesterday when two cars pulled up to his tour bus, which was parked at the Car Stereo Warehouse to have a new radio installed, and opened fire four times.
Following the shooting, the rapper, his cousin and another unidentified man were questioned by police. According to Flame’s publicis, Kali Bowyer, said Waka’s security team returned fire, injuring one of the assailants.
What remains unknown is what prompted the shooting. In the rap world, where life often imitates a terribly-scripted gangster movie, it’s likely that the shooting was in retaliation for some perceived slight that the gunmen felt at the hands of Flame’s entourage. We may never know exactly what happened.
What is known is that Flame continues to find himself on the wrong side of the law. In January, the rapper spent two days in jail after turning himself in on drug and weapons charges, as well as street gang activity and probation violations.
Last March, he was also arrested for leaving Georgia for a concert, which marked a violation of his probation from a 2006 weapons charge.
The list of offenses and incidents surrounding the “No Hands” emcee continues to lengthen. How long can this behavior last before someone dies? As a rolling out colleague suggested, perhaps he should consider wearing a bulletproof vest all the time like fellow rapper, 50 Cent, used to do. Let’s hope he gets his act together before the question posed has to be answered. –djr
