Rihanna, Barack Obama, Make ‘Time’s’ List of 100 Most Influential People; Who Else Made the List?
Time magazine has released its annual list of the 100 Most Influential People in the World. Included in that list is pop star Rihanna who at 24 already has a worldwide fan base and is described by Stella McCartney in the publication as one of the “most impressive artists” today.
“She’s one of the coolest, hottest, most talented, most liked, most listened to, most followed, most impressive artists at work today, but she does it in her own stride,” writes McCartney. “She works hard, very hard. She gives to her fans, friends and foundation not just herself but her energy and spirit.”
Also included in the list is Barack Obama, who is praised for killing Osama bin Laden and ending the war in Iraq.
“Monuments are not often built to politicians who are merely trustworthy, but they do tend to win re-election,” writes Time.
Besides the pop star and the president, what other notable figures made the list?
Check out a few of them below.
The Help star is profiled by actress Cicely Tyson, who praises her acting ability and spirit.
“Viola, 46, has given her stage and screen characters true presence, depth and authenticity because of her uncompromising real-life character,” writes Tyson.
Jeremy Lin of the New York Knicks is gracing the 100 Most Influential list for the first time after his rise to fame playing guard. He is praised for his grit and integrity.
