After much anticipation, Converse has officially debuted their new design of Chuck Taylor All-Stars. The Chuck Taylor All Star II features a contemporary reworking of the iconic sneaker first released in 1971. Its 2015 release ushers in a new way of approaching footwear design, offering functionality and comfort in a stylish package. For fans of the original Chuck Taylor, which was a somewhat paper-thin design, this means you’ll no longer have to double up on socks for extra cushion.

While at first glance, the sneaker boasts recognizable detailing synonymous with the ’70s release — white foxing, rubber toe-cap and All-Star patch — a closer look reveals new, modern elements, including a foam padded collar, non-slip padded tongue, and a perforated micro-suede liner. According to their website, the All Star II is “crafted form durable Tencel Canvas, and carries Chuck Talor All Star’s stripped-back aesthetics with utilitarian appeal, while a Nike Lunarlon Sockliner offers full support and cushioning.”

The 2015 fall Converse Chuck Taylor All Star II sneaker will be up for grabs on July 28 at the retail price of $70 for the Ox and $75 USD for the high-top at Converse retail stores, select retailers, and online at Converse.com in black, white, red and blue.

If you ask us, Chucks are a wardrobe must-have for anyone from the mom on-the-go to the Hollywood It girl. Stars like Taylor Swift, Jessica Alba, Nick Jonas, Tyga, Miley Cyrus, Wiz Khalifa, Chris Pine, Asher Roth, and most recently Beyoncé and Blue Ivy have all been seen sporting the fashion staple.
