Oprah Winfrey heats things up for the February issue of O magazine in a figure-hugging Grecian inspired dress, fishtail braid and chic accessories. Despite her recent Academy Award snub for her role in The Butler, Winfrey is glowing and keeps things moving by signing on to produce Selma, a new drama about the Civil Rights Movement, directed by Sundance Film Festival winner Ava DuVernay.

Winfrey has also inked a a very lucrative deal with Brad Pitts’ Plan B production company on a Martin Luther King biopic, with David Oyelowo cast as the lead. According to THR, “Selma details the attempts of black marchers to walk from Selma to Montgomery, the capital of Alabama, in 1965 in order to gain voting rights, only to be beaten back by police. It took the organizers three attempts to make the journey as marchers swelled in numbers each time. It was also a critical time in King’s life.”

DuVernay, who recently directed an episode of “Scandal,” told THR, “It’s a subject matter close to her heart. The producers are behind some of the most forward-thinking movies of last year, and they are all coming together.”

Looks like Oprah is already having an epic year. Check out some of her most fab covers yet!
