Beyoncé weight loss secret: How she lost 60 pounds after having Blue Ivy
After giving birth to daughter Blue Ivy in January, Queen Bey had to jump on a quick weight loss regimen to drop 60 pounds before May for her four-concert weekend in Atlantic City, NJ.
“Y’all have no idea how hard I worked!” the 30-year-old exclaimed to her fans during her concert at Revel’s Ovation Hall during the second night’s performance. “I had to lose 60 pounds. They had me on that treadmill. I ate lettuce!”
Beyoncé had already chosen to wear a custom-made Ralph & Russo design, including a midriff-baring, fringed two-piece adorned with Swarovski crystals so the pressure was on!
She maintained three 90 minute sessions per week and mixed it up with running, dancing and crunches on an exercise ball while maintaining a strict high protein diet.
Her typical day’s diet looked like this:
Breakfast: egg whites
Lunch: protein shake or fresh sliced turkey with capers
Snack: edamame or cucumbers with vinegar, cayenne pepper and lemon, berries or a green apple
Dinner: yellowtail sashimi with jalapenos and wasabi
She also mentions that breastfeeding Blue Ivy for 10 weeks helped bring her weight down as well.
After the four-day concert event, Beyoncé admits she got ‘chocolate wasted’ as a treat for all her hard work.
