It was the battle of the tiny beings this week as Marvel’s Ant-Man battled the adorable Minions for control of theatergoers’ attention and money. In the end, Ant-Man proved victorious by a narrow amount to keep Marvel’s streak of debuting atop the weekend box office alive with 12 straight winners and counting.

The Paul Rudd and Michael Douglas-led action flick was able to bring in $58 million in its opening week. Though a somewhat modest total for a Marvel release, the total still was good enough to outpace Minions‘s total of $50.2 million. Opening at third this week is the Amy Schumer and Bill Hader romantic comedy Trainwreck. Possibly with an added push from LeBron James’ featured supporting role in the film, it managed to open at just over $30 million. Coming in fourth this week is the Amy Poehler animated family film, Inside Out, which tallied $11.6 million. And rounding out the top five is the monstrous Jurassic World, which added another $11.4 million to its billion-dollar run..
