Entrepreneur Manny Halley, CEO of Imani Entertainment Group, has acquired the rights to New York Times Best Selling author Teri Woods’ cult urban classics, True To the Game and Dutch.

Halley and Woods will team together to bring both novels to the big screen.

True To the Game, which has sold more than 2 million copies worldwide, is a tumultuous love story set in the late 1980s, centering around the lives of a young girl Gena, from Philly thrown into the rapid streets of Harlem, New York, and a slick talking native New Yorker, Quadir, as they rise to stardom. Young and in love, the pair ultimately risk it all to stay “true to the game.”

Dutch on the other hand, is a complex cat-and-mouse tale of New Jersey crime boss James Bernard Jr., aka Dutch and District Attorney Anthony Jacobs. In the midst of trying to take down Dutch’s thriving heroine trade, District Attorney Anthony Jacobs discovers he may have bitten off more than he can chew.

“To date, both novels have sold millions worldwide, and the timeless stories are very relevant still today.” Halley says. Making this a great opportunity to turn two fan favorite titles into two major blockbusters.

Currently on board to produce the films is Nia Hill, best known for her work as an Executive Producer of the award winning gospel show “Sunday Best,” and feature films The Seat Filler and Ride Or Die.

Leah Daniels-Butler (CSA) has signed on as Casting Director for True To the Game. Daniels-Butler has previously cast hits like The Butler, Precious, ATL, and Fox’s “Empire.”

True To the Game and Dutch are set to begin filming in 2015.
