A short film that offers a millennial perspective on the wealth gap in America is asking for support. Filmmaker Amanda Brown is requesting donations for her documentary, Black Heirlooms that utilizes researchers, lawyers, authors and financial planners to educate about intergenerational wealth. The film shows Brown’s relatives in a state of flux over the estate of the family matriarch.

Armed with a Kickstarter campaign, Black Heirlooms hopes to meet its goal of raising $23,600 that will help with post production, distribution and entry fees for film festivals like Sundance. Backers have until Friday, May 2, 2014, to support the film.
