It was a strange weekend at the box office that saw the top five movies take in at least $20 million each while the bottom five of the top 10 couldn’t muster $4 million.

George Clooney’s science fiction adventure, Tomorrowland, took the top spot with almost $33 million, while last week’s box-office champ, Pitch Perfect 2, just missed a possible repeat as it pulled in an additional $30 million. Mad Max: Fury Road held down the third spot tallying another $23.9 million. The other newcomer to the top five was the reboot of classic suspense horror, Poltergeist, which met studio expectations of opening in the middle of the pack with a modest $23 million. And rounding out the top five is Avengers 2: Age of Ultron which was able to add another $20.9 million to its impressive worldwide total.
