Emmett, Furla, and Oasis Films have teamed up with Morgan Creek Productions to co-finance and co-produce Tupac, a biopic based on the 25-year-old late rapper Tupac Shakur.

The project, which is said to have a $45 million budget, will bring big business to Atlanta, where it will begin filming in February of next year.

The biopic, which has been attempted and rewritten several times over, is now ready to roll. Producers are currently searching for a filmmaker and the biggest piece of the puzzle, an actor to play Shakur. It is undecided whether the producers will chose a Hollywood veteran or a fresh face, but we are confident they will find the perfect fit.

For those of you hesitant towards their selection, Tupac’s mother, Afeni Shakur, will be closely watching as a fellow producer on the film. In anticipation of casting, we have stirred up our top picks of actors, veteran and green, to play the coveted role of Tupac Shakur.
