Though not quite the triumphant return to the box office that he and studio execs were probably hoping for, Will Smith’s action comedy Focus still managed to claim the top spot at the weekend’s box office.

While falling far short of past spectacular openings for Smith, Focus pulled in a respectable $19.1 million but figures to have a tough time to make back the reported $50 million it cost to make the film. Holding steady at the second and third spots for the third straight week were Kingsman: The Secret Service and The SpongeBob Movie: Sponge Out of Water with $11.75 million and $11.2 million, respectively. Erotic sensation Fifty Shades of Grey finally fell from the top spot, slipping to No. 4 with $10.9 million. Rounding out the top five is the horror film The Lazarus  Effect, which opened with $10.6 million.
