If you haven’t already heard, Atlanta-based rapper 2 Chainz is participating in an epic way at Friday’s Atlanta Hawks game vs. the Miami Heat.

While many critics have rushed to judgement, claiming that the rapper doesn’t have what it takes to fill stadium seats with young Black fans, let us remind you, he’s multifaceted. Before his days in the Playaz Circle, (where he was formerly known as Tity Boi), 2 Chainz, whose real name is Tauheed Epps, finished second in his class at North Clayton High School prior to attending Alabama State University on a scholarship to play for the Hornets basketball team. He later graduated with a 4.0.

According to a series of promotional videos, Atlanta Hawks CEO Steve Koonin and 2 Chainz have partnered to promote his new rap label, The Real University at Philips Arena when the Hawks face off against the Miami Heat on March 27. In the clip, 2 Chainz is featured as the CEO. “Mr. Koonin left me in charge,” he said. “I don’t know if you know who I am, but I’m 2 Chainz. There are going to be some major changes around here, buddy. Truuuuue.”

The promotional videos, which will be released each day this week, outlining the “I’m Different” recording artist’s proposed changes, can be found on the Hawks’ Facebook page.

“As an Atlantan, I’m excited to collaborate with my beloved Hawks on March 27 as they face off against the Miami Heat,” 2 Chainz said in a statement. “The Hawks have been ‘TRU to Atlanta’ this season so it’s only right that we come out to support,” he continued.

“We could not be more excited to partner with 2 Chainz, an Atlanta-bred superstar who has been one of the team’s biggest supporters and always remained ‘True to Atlanta,’ ” Hawks and Philips Arena CEO Steve Koonin said in a statement. “Working with Chainz is a perfect fit for our organization as we continue to attract an increasingly diverse, millennial fan base that values great entertainment both on and off the court.”
